With so many exciting features available such as Find Me printing, Web upload, Mobil Device Printing, Smart Phone print release plus custom reporting and more. It’s important you work with the experts and make sure your PaperCut experience is a good one. Our standard installation covers the following:

  • PaperCut comes "out of the box" with a web based interface for administration. There is no need to configure your own web server however, because PaperCut includes its own. Modern web design techniques such as tabs, effects and transitions even make PaperCut's web interface feel like a traditional desktop application.
  • From version 14.1, multiple Groups or Organizational Units may be selected from any sync source such as Windows Active Directory, LDAP or operating system local groups.
  • Auto and manual Sync of PaperCut Users & Groups with Directory Sources such as Active Directory. This simplifies the administration of the system by avoiding the need to manage a separate database of users and groups.
  • The advantages over the "Windows Standard" include: o Allows using Active Directory organizational units. o Supports nested groups for simplified user management. o Allows importing of users from other trusted Active Directory domains.
  • The default PaperCut installation stores data in an internal database. For the interested person, the database is Apache Derby - an open source database written by IBM and based on their DB2 Cloudscape Database. The internal database is optimized for embedded use, is very robust, ACID compliant and scales well.
  • Update the users' unique card/identity number from the AD/LDAP field - allows a user card or ID number to be imported from an Active Directory or LDAP field specified.
  • Active Directory or LDAP fields like Department can be synced and usage tracked in Reports.
  • Page level detection for accurate tracking of usage.
  • If you require more power than PaperCut's in-built filters and restrictions you can leverage Advanced Scripting.
  • Charge by selecting from multiple Departments or Billings Accounts.
  • User management made easy with group print quotas, new user creation rules and multiple personal accounts.
  • The PaperCut data structure is relatively simple and people with Crystal Reports, MS Access or SQL experience should have no problems extracting data or written custom reports.
  • Customization of the user interface and report headers with school or company colours and logo.
  • Ad-hoc Reporting and schedule reports to Users email.
  • Notify Users by popup message or email. E.g. funds are getting low, Balance popup window.
  • PaperCut Admins can receive emails on error level events.
  • Auto populate user 'email To' field for 'Scan to Email' on most MFDs
  • Supports all operating systems and as many MFP/copier vendors as possible.
  • Secure print release and find-me printing across devices using a number of technologies including embedded MFD software, embedded printer software, network based proximity card readers, print release stations and special print terminals.
  • Array of payment options ranging from interfaces with leading online payment providers through to Kiosk payment hardware.
  • Whether you need to track and control printing from iPads, iPhones or other iOS devices using PaperCut’s iOS Printing or need to set up a general management solution for all devices using PaperCut’s Email to Print or Web Print, you may tailor PaperCut’s Mobile & BYOD configuration to suit your network’s needs.
  • Web Cashier is a basic Point of Sale (POS) system to charge items to PaperCut accounts and deposit funds into users' accounts. It is a standard product feature.
  • PaperCut's Print Archiving empowers approved administrators to browse and review the content of print activity within their environment.
  • Single sign-on lets users access PaperCut's web interface without re-entering credentials.
  • Track printing on those USB printers connected to a PC.
