  • Our most popular product, a USB MiFare card reader shown in images above, will run on Windows XP or later without requiring any drivers (it is registered as a human interface device like a keyboard) or on later Macintosh operating systems (with a little tweaking). There is no configuration possible for this device and the scanned MiFare serial numbers are output in decimal format. Being a human interface device, when you scan a card with this reader the card number is displayed in the form or field that has focus. This means you can scan the card number into a generic program such as notepad or whatever other application you require to contain the card number. At least one card of this kind is normally provided with My Student Account and PaperCut installations to assist with administration tasks such as confirming the successful operation of a MiFare card and registering the new card numbers.
